Re: .32 Remington caliber bullet question

For what it's worth, I still have a supply of original Remington bullets that were made and loaded for the 32 Remington. The 170 grain soft points are .320, but the 170 grain hollow points are .319....tom

Jerry:
I tried to help you the first day you posted by sending you a private message that you never answered. I have the part from a donor that is about 4000 different with the serial number. My part is from a 22 special.

I would put the time it was built as 1921 or early 1922.

Re: 25 Remington pump

113152 is in the range of model 14s generally made in 1928. It has to have a build code. Could it be more towards the bottom of the barrel and thus hidden by the action bar?

Re: Where are all the 14R cabines?

Your July 7,2004 inquiry on the number of carbines was never answered and, while you may well have gotten an answer in the years since, I thought I would give you one at this late date. The only records that have surfaced are for the years 1923-1934 and they list 1218 carbines made while the total f...

Re: Model 8 help Winchester marked?

I think that that model 8 was probably owned by Winchester at one time. It makes sense to me that competitors would want to keep abreast of what the competition was doing. I keep databases on some of the Remington slide actions offered and have run across a 141R owned and marked by Winchester. It se...

Re: Rifle model #?

14½s were only in 38-40 and 44-40, so that's out. Later 14s and all 141s had the serial and the model on the left side of the receiver, so you would have seen that. That leaves the model 14s made from 1912 into the mid 20s. If the serial is on the front bottom of the receiver, with a "C" a...

Re: Model 121 Won't Lock Up. Help

Re: Remington Model 25 questions

I maintain a database on model 25s with over 600 listed so far. Some of what it shows are build codes from 1922 to 1927. About 200 were assembled thru November of 1922 and mass production started in December of that year with over 1000 built that month. In around 1935 discussion was held on whether ...

According to Gyde & Marcot's book, "Remington 22 Rimfires", your rifle was made in the latter part of 1928.

Re: Looking for a buttplate and what year it was made.

Rifles in that serial range were generally made in 1914. Marking the model, first on the barrel, and later on the receiver did not start until around 1919. The earlier 14s had a steel shotgun style buttplate or a hard rubber one, both shaped the same. Your rifle probably had the hard rubber version,...

Re: Model 25R production numbers

I maintain a database on model 25s and would welcome information on yours. About 33,000 were made, with 32849 the highest serial number on my records so far. This includes 56 made in 1937. Remington records never recorded whether it was a rifle or carbine. Estimates of the number of carbines general...

Re: Mod. 25 date code

I keep a database on model 25s and have some information on 3028 when it was on gunbroker. According to what I have, you will find it marked KU3KP. KU3 means it was "returned to factory for repair" in May, 1927. The KP means it was built in May, 1923. The KP code is inline with the dates o...
