Re: Left Hand Model 700 vs. Model 700LH
You are comparing apples to oranges with your pics. The second rifle you posted a pic of is a late model. I believe this came about in the mid 90s where LH was added to the model altho I can't find any substantiation.

Re: Replacement Model 721 Barrel or counter bore
Just my humble opinion but the counterbore will likely cause havoc with accuracy as crowning properly is likely impossible. Although no one would want to shorten a 300 too much, losing the length would likely be better overall and have the bullet leave a well cut crown. Has this been gone over by a ...

Re: Confusion in Dating 572 Fieldmaster
What Den said. 1978 for the "standard" barrel to drop to 21 inches. Before that there was the 2 lengths; the shorter called a "carbine". Now the carbine length is full length. Confused yet? Also, the serial number should begin with A, not?. People call the 600 centrefire series &...

Re: 700 .222 mag
315 made. IIRC Remington used 1 in 14 for both the 222 and 222RM. Use a tight fitting lubed patch on a jag with a cleaning rod to be sure.

Re: Production Date
The 1993 Classics are M or (mostly) N. Unsure but the E may, and only "may", indicate the "enhanced" models and without seeing a picture of the stampings, I'd date yours 1999 just before they stopped stamping the date code on the barrel for a short time. Do you have the box it ca...

Re: Help dating a family heirloom??
We're looking at the same page. I took the 8 for a 3 so you are correct. I'm not privy to the barrel letters as did not see them. Not overly versed on the 30s myself. Just wasn't sure you saw the book listing.

Re: Pump 760 help
What vintage? I consider myself pretty handy but was only able to confidently take my 1954 apart so far. Have had pull-through cleaning accessories for this and a 742 for years.
