Re: Danish Rolling Block Rear Sight

Hi There, I have been doing some more research on this rifle and have found some additional information that is slightly confusing for me. Earlier, on this sight, someone posted a question about identifying their rolling block. Link to Other Post It was a Danish model similar to mine but the rear si...

Re: Danish Rolling Block Rear Sight

Hi There, Both are chambered for the 11.7x45R. The original rimfire cartridge had a 42mm case. As these have a short chamber they were probably not good candidates for importers in the 1960s to run a .45-70 chamber reamer into them so they could be sold as "45-70 caliber". Because of this,...

Re: Danish Rolling Block Rear Sight

Hi There,

Thanks for the reply!

It doesn't look like graduations have been crossed out.
Here is a close-up of the side of the sight.

Danish Rolling Block Rear Sight

Hi There,

I just acquired a Remington made Danish rolling block and the rear
sight is different that the Danish made one I already have. Does it
look correct for this model?

Hi There,

Have you checked with Numrich Arms? They list two different
breach blocks (stripped) types (for round firing pin or for flat
firing pin) I don't know which type is the later type you need
but perhaps someone else here would know?

Good Luck!

Re: 7MM RB Question

Hi There, I have read both of Mr. Layman's books on Rolling Blocks but I didn't see anything that address my question directly. I know that this area of the collecting field is still evolving and hopefully more information has (or will) come to light. I was wondering if this marking was changed when...

7MM RB Question

Hi There, Well, I've picked up another Roller this week. This one is a "standard" 1897 rifle in 7mm Mauser (a.k.a. 7mm Spanish Mauser). The barrel is marked "7 M. M - S. M." I've noticed other #5's are marked "CAL. 7 M. M." My question is, when did Remington change the ...

Re: Another RB Spanish Pattern

Hi There, Thanks for replying. I will keep you informed but it will take me awhile to get to the point of shooting it. I hope bullet obturation will be enough to give decent accuracy. I'm looking for a Lyman/Ideal 439186 at present (hoping to find a good used one at a decent price). The depth of the...

Another RB Spanish Pattern

Hi There, I'm new here and I am looking for some information on a Roller I recently acquired. I've done some searching (here and other places) and I am still a little "in the dark" on some of the questions I have. First off, I would like to have some information on the numbers on the left ...
