I know I've absolutely seen this receiver / Firing mechanism before. I need to stir the brain on this one.

Re: Remington Fed

Unfortunate political decision not to sell to the public especially when you can buy identical performance from another manufacture.

Re: Derringer 41 short mono block

If you look at the locking lug under the barrel it's date code stamped, check the manufactures date link off the home page for explaination.

3rd Model 5th type (which may not agree with blue book but that's what collectors call it) also at least 15th or 16th variation ;) 1 of ~500 is correct, I have to dig records to see if there is a more definitive number, it maybe in Doug's book I don't have it in hand http://www.remingtonsociety.com/...

Re: Hello from Wisconsin

I would say zero collector value, others my disagree. For a shooter, I don't know, if you had to have this same model but other reproductions can be had for much less. Your much better of to have ONE very fine (best you can afford) original example then own 20 brown or refinished guns (if your a col...

Re: Hello from Wisconsin

Where the flat edges meet is just that, Remington never buffed or smoothed them, if they are not sharp the barrel has been buffed you have to buff a barrel to refinish it. Now they certainly wear but that doesn't leave the finish intact ;)

Re: Hello from Wisconsin

I think it's only Gold that takes multiple finishes, this is just a bad refinish, if the edges of the barrel are not sharp it's a huge red flag.

Re: New Remington Elliot .32 missing a screw

It appears the sear rivet is there or the sear connecting link would fall out. If you look closely at it you will see the spring is just squeezed in there, I appears that part of the spring is still in there. I would say at least 80% actually I would say 90+ and that's even on ones with good finish ...

If you haven't put in watches on Gunbroker.com and GunAmerica.com, I'm not sure if GunsInternational.com has that available but I guess actually you can set up a google watch as well. They seem to go quick.

Re: Remington O/U .41 derringer - broken hinges - worth fixi

The short answer is NO and if you decided to anyhow you have to find someone who knows how to do cast. If it was a rare you would destroy the value if you repaired it more then just eaving it alone. With Remington Arms Co on the top there's no rare one that it can be, it's a parts gun.
