UPDATE
I had the gun repaired last month and the firing pin was indeed broken.
Firing pin replaced and gun back in service.

obtained 1996
1st year or so , worked perfectly
fires every 3rd-4th shell or so now regardless of brand ammo
primer marks look okay, but obviously not enough
firing pin problem or ?
any parts support or interchangeability ?

my grandpas 721 was purchased used on/about Aug 58 according to his old records.
