Looks Really Nice! I just picked one of these up as well, I love it.
How much does the shop charge for work like that? It looks nicer than the Centennial Model. I was surprised to see that they could engrave the frame too!

Re: 1100 special 12 Ga. questions
so just to make sure, because its easy for me to screw things up, do i put the o-ring on the magazine in front of the barrel hanger(towards the muzzle end, not the reciever end) or just under the cap? what am i risking braking if i dont? the fore end? you said a 3/32 cross section o-ring, but what i...

Re: 1100 special 12 Ga. questions
hey virginian, i know this is an older post, but i hope you see my question. i have a special field 1100 as well, and just put a new 1100 barrel on it. you mentioned needing a magazine cap retaining detent or o-ring to make this work, butmine seems to fit just fine without. Mine is an early 90's mak...

Re: 721 722 725 dates of mfg
FYI, i believe mine has screw in rear sights as they do not look like any sort of dovetail. the fronts are dovetail of course. please explain this barrel hump so i can determine if my gun is a transition gun, or would you kow from the info given?

Inherited my great uncles 721 in .270 win. serial # 4203xx RE 11/58. Great deer gun. only misses have been firing through brush, otherwise a real tack driver.

Parts for Remington 581
I recently expanded my Remington collection and purchased a 1976 Rem 581 in almost mint condition, but it is missing the rear sight. looks like it snapped off flush with the housing. I have been looking all over online and it seems like this must be a common issue since everyone i found that sells t...

Re: Shotgun Id
And that Dave is why I am not the researcher! Looks like the rounded pistol grip may be a dead give away if you don't have a serial #. Also looks like the sportsman has a more tapered foregrip.

Re: Shotgun Id
Well, if memory serves me right, that is a Model 11 sportsman I believe. Humpback browning looking receiver. I see these go for $200 - $300 on auction sites. They were introduced about 1905 and were Rems 1st auto loader, almost identical in design to the A-5"s being made at the same time. No he...

I was surfing the internet one night and found a picture of a hang tag from an 1894 SxS but i for got to save the image. i believe on the tag it showed the test results from the factory ( pellet count) and it also said something about the load used. I have read the canned response from the researche...

Re: 1894 question, firing problem, and pics
Took the gun to the smith finally, turns out the firing pin on the left side was missing about 1/8 inch off the back, broken off at some point.
cheap fix i hope ( havent gotten the bill, but should be less than $60 with labor)
