Re: Model 14

Jim, I had already pretty much figured that rifle was yours , that's the only reason I would consider it . Really wish I had the money for the model 25. I'm still trying to figure out what the issue with mine is . When I can find some proper bullets I'm gonna try loading a couple just slightly short...

Re: Model 14

That the plan Jim . I am a shooter not a collector . I know a fellow who can fix them holes to where you would never know they had been there. Might get him to fix them . I liked my .35 model 141 but I am really loving the model 14 . I would love to have one of each caliber but since I am retired my...

Re: Model 14

Looking at the blown up picture the sn looks like 115112 so it is probably actually a 1930 gun . The number of the .32 rife is 104752 so it is later than I was told when I bought it.

Model 14

Wake up Jim ! I just won an auction for a 1930 model 14 in .35 Rem with the Redfield 102 sight I was after a while back . I'll post the serial number when I have it in hand as well as the number from my m14 in .32 from 1928 I think. Hope the stock is full length cause it sure needs a butt plate inst...

Re: Remington 12 troubleshooting

I have no expertise in any area pertaining to working on any Remington pump but I have read a lot about them . If the model 12 is anything like the older model 14, 14 1/2 , 25's , everything inside them was hand fitted to one specific rifle and almost never interchange directly into another rifle of...

Re: Remington model 25-C

Wrong John Taylor , the guy I thought you were is a well known gun wrench . He just the other day posted on another forum about cleaning one of these up for his brother . If you ask about anyone to repair a 25 on here you get the blank stare , 14, 14 1/2, 141 you can get repair people references . Y...

Re: Model 8, 25 Remington Tech Question

If the Prince Albert washer is still present and doing whatever job it was intended to do , why would you ever consider replacing it ? If my pap had put it in and I owned it , it would stay there till it rusted and fell out . At that point I would be looking for another Prince Albert tin to cut anot...

Re: Inherited model 11 problem

Is there a magazine lock out lever on the side like on a browning ? If so is it locked blocking the magazine ? Did you push the button while trying to push the shell in ?

Re: Model 25 woes

Anything further to report ? I am assuming this is an issue when the hammer is at rest as well as when cocked ? Mine won't lift the front of the cartridge unless I screw the takedown screw out and slightly tip the rear action section . At that point it does tip up as the slide goes forward but the c...

Re: In need of a Marbles R11 tang sight for a Model 25

Thanks Jim . Last one I saw was on a 141 rifle on GB . It had this sight mounted , a Weaver scope mounted , the box for the sight and either the Marbles or Lyman sight in it's box . Price was too high just to get the sight and I didn't really want the drilled rifle . Guess I should have bought it an...

Re: In need of a Marbles R11 tang sight for a Model 25

Tang sights for the Model 12 & 25 have become very costly but they are the same frame and interchangeable. There were a LOT more tang sights made for the Model 12 which I think is the Marble R7 so my suggestion is for you to use one of those. I can only assume your stock has the screw hole in t...
