Re: Your Remington "Shooter"?
Mine is an 1896 AE 12 30" with beautiful Damascus barrels. Solid gun, still holding good case color and the ejectors are strong.

Re: Remington Model 1100
Very nice Remmy. I have the LT Magnum (3") from the same period. You can fit a 2 3/4" ribbed RemChoke barrel to it (find on the ebay market) and they make a great skeet or sporting clays gun.

Re: 1894 ejector takedown?
I just finished a repair and cleanup (replaced missing top snap spring and cleaned all internals) on a Rem 1894. Stock separation was not a problem as long as you are aware as to how the sliding safety bar functions and is positioned in the head and frame. At first a bit of a mystery but a little re...

Re: 1100 20g frame buffer replacement
Thanks for your reply.
I talked with Remington and this is what they send out as the frame buffer. The buffer in my 1100 is a doughnut with a bevel on the forward edge. Is the part the F14902?

1100 20g frame buffer replacement
I need advice on replacing the frame buffer on my 1978 20g LT Magnum. I have the new part but it is entirely different than the one used back in 1978.

Re: 1894 AE forend photo request
As the original is a wood screw I presume that it pulls away with use. Another question. I attempted to remove the iron assembly, got some way into it but stopped due to resistance sliding it back and in lifting it out. Does the front end latch need to be removed or released by loosening the two sma...

Re: 1894 AE forend photo request
I pulled the forearms on my two highest original condition guns, CEO and DEO and on one that little wood screw is color case hardened and the other blued like this gun?!? On my only AE-Grade, the gun my Father shot for over forty years, that little wood screw is replaced by a machine screw and escu...

Re: 1894 AE forend photo request
Thanks. Has the head on the rear screw been blued, or did it come blued as in the photo?Researcher wrote:Here are a couple of pics from a pretty clean gun --

1894 AE forend photo request
If you have a photo of the forend from a Grade AE 1894 that shows the screw heads both under and outside I would appreciate seeing one. I wish to check the finish on my gun against one that is in top condition.

Re: 1894 ejector takedown?
Thanks. Another question as to hammers. Are there any significant differences in the model 1894 hammers by year of manufacture? I would like to build a small parts collection to serve as replacements. Such items as mainsprings, sear springs, sears, cocking arms, and hammers. Just in case...

Re: 1894 ejector takedown?
Thanks. Yes, ejectors are fine, timed, and springs good. If I remove the forend screws (2) will the ejector iron just lift out complete?
