Hi, New to this site and just acquired a 1858 patented pistol serial 24554 stamped under the barrel. upon removing the grips the same number shows BUT also # 1224. 1224 is also stamped in to the inside of both the wooden grips. info on a 1858 serial number believed to be 1224
