Re: Double Ivory Beads on 1894

I went to double check and Researcher is correct. It is not a "bridge style" frame. My mistake in the post above.

Re: Double Ivory Beads on 1894

Researcher, Your chain pattern on your barrels is much more vibrant than than the condition left on mine. Without going back to other posts, I remember the damascus pattern being number "3" oe 3 twist or something like that. My home computer is having problems or I would upload pictures. R...

Re: Double Ivory Beads on 1894

I went back to look at the gun. It is a B grade. Serial # 1264XX B stamped on bottom of both barrels as well as the top of the bridge style water table. After each B on the bottom of the barrels is 3 forward slash marks like this: B/// except the B is rotated to be parralell with the barrel not perp...

Double Ivory Beads on 1894

Were double ivory beads standard on any lower grade 1894's?

I've got a line on a damascus 1894 in 12 gauge with about 80 to 85% condition for a pretty good deal.

Curious about the ivory.

Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 141 Peerless Grade D Questions

If I am interpreting it correctly, the barrel stamp of DF and something else that is illegible indicates a September 1937 date of manufacture. Which would make it about second year production which is also supported by the low serial number. I still have more questions than answers, and am trying to...

Re: 141 Peerless Grade D Questions

It has a grip cap with Remington written twice around the outer edge as if the words made parenthesis () surrounding the screw and a Fluer de lis type of pattern in the center. I'll try to get a picture later tonight.

141 Peerless Grade D Questions

I purchased this gun recently and am wondering if, other than the recoil pad, it is factory work or just very nice custom work. The serial number is 59XX. It was represented as a grade D but there is no grade engraved on it. Information on these guns is very thin on the internet. I'm looking any inf...
