Is the cleaning rod specific to the 1885 or did Remington use one from another model? I am looking for one for my 1885.

700 action mfg date
I have a action I purchased to build rifle with. I contacted remarms and they told me that they can’t tell when it was manufactured. I want to know if it is one that has the trigger that had the trigger recall.

Is there any way to remove the follower from the box mag? The spring broke in mine and I would like to fix it. I only single load and I want to load from the mag so the rim is under the extractor when loading.

M40 info wanted
I am looking for any information on a M40, sn:2243xx. I did contact the Remington historian, sent them a picture of the rifle. They confirmed that the rifle was produced as a M40 in 1966. I also have a M40 scope with the sn:275xxx on it.
