Re: 1885 REM-Lee cleaning rod

Thanks for the replies. I was gifted the rifle and it shoots great, I hope to shoot it in a gong match this year.

Cheers,
Steve

1885 REM-Lee cleaning rod

Is the cleaning rod specific to the 1885 or did Remington use one from another model? I am looking for one for my 1885.

Steve

700 action mfg date

I have a action I purchased to build rifle with. I contacted remarms and they told me that they can’t tell when it was manufactured. I want to know if it is one that has the trigger that had the trigger recall.

Cheers,
Steve

Steve

Re: M40 info wanted

It is an M40 in 7.62mm. What I am looking for is any information to where it was sent when it left the factory and its configuration. As I understand it, most went to the fleet then to Nam. About 150 (without scopes) went to the MC depot in Georgia for spares. I have Senich's book, but I want more i...

M40 info wanted

I am looking for any information on a M40, sn:2243xx. I did contact the Remington historian, sent them a picture of the rifle. They confirmed that the rifle was produced as a M40 in 1966. I also have a M40 scope with the sn:275xxx on it.
