721, 722, and 725 are all basically the same. Barrels will switch. However the indexing with sights straight up and headspacing usually requires setting back the barrel 1 thread. 721 bolt bodies were made in two pieces with a fine line joint about 3/8" back of the lugs. I hope this is what you see. Have a good gunsmith check it out to be sure. The date info you have is right on.

The serial number is on the left side front receiver ring or the very early made ones (like the first 30,000 or so made in 1948) had the number inside the left bolt locking lug channel above the follower.
