Thanks Bill. I did look on the loading gate, but may have missed it. Would it be on the inside of the gate?

No serial number apparent on barrel beneath ejector assembly

Thanks aardq. Further scrutiny does show a faint barrel address, especially with sun glint or with jeweler's loupe.

Any ideas on supplies of .44 Remington BP cartridges?

Remington 1875 - No barrel address

I have a Remington 1875 serial 10234 with no barrel address. Should this be a concern? The Remington is in very good condition and looks all original with consistent patina. Obviously an early model with pinched post front sight and no calibre markings. I can post more pics later if needed.
