Re: Remington Model 8 in .35 Remington Range Report

The reloads were 200 gr bullets. Not sure if CoreLokt. Bore looks great, but might give it a good scrubbing with copper solvent and try factory loads. Factory Remington CoreLokt rounds work best for me. They feed perfectly and have good accuracy. I've tried Federals Power Shock brand, but they seem...

Re: Remington Model 8 in .35 Remington Range Report

Good looking Model 8 you have! You should be getting better groups than that. Have you tried the 200 grain CoreLokt bullets? How's the bore look? Is the rifling in good shape and did you clean it well after you bought it. Mine was shooting crazy until I cleaned out the copper fouling using Sweet's 7...

Model 11 friction rings

I have a Model 11 12 gauge (serial # 34xxxx). The friction rings aren't the same as the ones in all the instruction books. Instead of the bevel being on the outside of the steel friction ring, it's on the inside. With the bevel on the outside, the bevel points towards the receiver for heavy loads. I...

Re: Cleaning my Model 11

" Won't stink up the place like Hoppe's "? #9 is perfume to an old man like me. Haven't asked my bride to dab any behind her ears, but that may be next  I have a soft spot for Hoppe's #9, don't get me wrong. It's my kids who hate the smell and they will complain until I air out the h...

Cleaning my Model 11

A couple of nights ago I was bored and decided to give my Model 11 a good cleaning. As far as I know it hasn't been given a proper cleaning in decades. All I had for instructions were the instructions in the Model 11 manual. I've cleaned her before by spraying brake cleaner in the action and letting...

Re: Model 11s and rifled slugs

Rifled slugs will not hurt the gun a bit. The only way to know how accurate they are going to be will be to shoot it. Usually full is not that great, but you never can tell. Sabot slugs are intended to be used with rifled barrels. Thanks for the quick reply. I stumbled across a couple of forums whe...

Model 11s and rifled slugs

I'm wondering of it's OK to shoot rifled slugs with a Model 11 12 gauge. It has the built in full choke.

Re: A couple of Model 11 questions.

I would never try to shoot steel shot shells through a gun like that. There are alternatives to steel (like Bismuth). If it was me, I'd look for other places to shoot where lead was allowed. Otherwise, I'd keep it as a sentimental piece in a special place and get a newer gun (if you don't already h...

A couple of Model 11 questions.

Hello everyone, I recently inherited my grandfathers old Model 11 (Serial #347xxx). It's a beautiful gun. I've cleaned and lubed it pretty well although I didn't give it a complete teardown. Anyway, I have a couple of questions. First, the area I'd like to go to shoot requires non-lead shot only. Ca...
