Re: 92 year old Remington Model 14 brings home the Venison

Congratulations! I have two model 14s that I have shot several deer with and one of my favorite stories is really similar to yours. Still hunting with my 25 Remington, saw a doe pass 40 yards in front of me, circled back, walked straight towards me, and I shot her at 20 yards. Funny how the situatio...

Re: Repro Stocks for Model 14

Hey Jim, Great to hear from you. As you know, this little 14 is pretty nice but not original. Has been re-blued, a studded magazine tube ring added (by you) and the receiver swapped out at some point. My vision for this gun is to keep tinkering with it until it is like-new beautiful. I don't mind do...

Repro Stocks for Model 14

Hi again, I have a 1912 Model 14 in 25 Remington. Jim did some work on it a few years ago when I first bought it and got it in top shape for me. It is a great shooter and has been a top notch first rifle for my son. He was 11 years old when I bought it. When I got it the stock had been seriously mod...

Re: 35 Rem 200 Grain RN

Thanks again.

I got lucky and found a guy who had 50 rounds of once fired and reloaded ammo for sale. Got it for $36. Of course I'll pull the bullets and reload myself.

Re: 35 Rem 200 Grain RN

That reload info would be great.

I did put in a backorder with Buffalo Arms and they are predicting a late December shipment. Deer season here in Alabama goes to Jan 31 so there might be time to get some loaded up and get lucky still.

Thanks again.

Re: 35 Rem 200 Grain RN

Thanks Den. I had not thought of using pistol bullets. I have a lot of the equipment for casting bullets but not a 35 mold. I'm hesitant to start another hobby right now but if it looks like that will be my option, I might have to. Hopefully things will get better on the supply/demand front. My main...

35 Rem 200 Grain RN

Hey Folks, I know this is probably a ridiculously naive question to be asking right now, but does anyone know where I could buy some 200 grain RN bullets for 35 rem? Or even loaded ammo? It has become an annual tradition to take a deer with my grandfather's 35 rem but I am down to just two rounds. I...

Re: Two More Notches in the Stock

Hi, Jim. No, this was with the 35, although I have found the 25 to be just as effective at the "woods ranges" that I hunt at. As far as deerburger, I would rather grill it for you personally than send it to you. But you can have as musch as you want. Someday I hope to get a carbine from yo...

Two More Notches in the Stock

Hi Everyone,
Went out MLK day in the morning and bagged two does within an hour with my old family heirloom Model 14. What a great day! Read all about it here...

Re: MODEL 14 & 141 RELOADING/CRIMPING / Bulletin #9

Jim - Hold on now! I'm pretty sure you told me about using the 243 die to crimp the 25 Rem rounds a couple years ago. That's how long I have been doing it and I know I am not smart enough to figure that out on my own and I don't know anyone who would have told me that. I think it is true that you ha...

Tonk - Just look around for Nambujim on this forum. He lives in NC and is good beyond good when it comes to working on these rifles. Find his profile and send him a PM.

Re: Reforming Brass for 25 Rem

Thank you. I am surprised that an intermediate die is not necessary. I'll give it a try though. Thanks for the tips. Also wondering if you anneal the case. If so, what is the proces you use?
