Re: SPR18 7.62X39 Bore Diameter

I think that CZ USA has a bolt action rifle chambered in 7.62 x 39 that should serve you well.

Re: SPR18 7.62X39 Bore Diameter

Projectiles for the 7.62 x 39 are as follows: .310, .311, and .312 in diameter. Most die sets also contain a .308 expander ball as well because of the Ruger Mini-30 Rifle. The best idea is to slug your bore to find out where to start when selecting projectiles for reloading if you are in doubt as to...

Re: Remington 700 DM Mountain chambered in 25-06

I am wondering how likely it will be for me to find a Remington 700 Classic chambered in 250 Savage without breaking the bank. Presently I have only two quarter bores: a Remington 722 chambered in 257 Roberts, and my most recent addition: a Remington 700 DM Mountain chambered in 25-06.

Re: Remington 700 Classic chambered in 7mm-08

Dah, how did I miss that one. Your answer is right on target. I just checked the barrel dating code on Remington's official website. It reads: On 8/9/99, stopped stamping the barrels with the date code. They continued to mark the date code on the end flap of the shipping box. They resumed stamping t...

Re: model 721 question

Remington 721's and 722's are great firearms. I have hunted deer the past six seasons with mine. I have placed all one shot kills on fifteen deer at distances up to 365 meters with most of my shots falling in the 150-225 meter killing zone. As you may or may not know, all Remington Model 721's have ...

Remington 700 DM Mountain chambered in 25-06

At a recent gun show I was able to purchase a Remington 700 DM Mountain CDL chambered in 25-06 that is setup with Leupold bases, rings, and a Leupold 2-7X Vari-X II rifle scope. The rifle is in almost perfect 98 percent condition with satin bluing and is in a wood stock. It seems that this rifle is ...

Remington 700 Classic chambered in 7mm-08

I believe that one of my Remington 700's is a Classic chambered in 7mm-08. The reason that I say believe to be is because: the stock is the same as a Classic, the rifle has the drop floor plate feature, and the bluing is blue (not satin). I understand that the Classic in the 7mm-08 chambering was on...

Re: Remington 510-P

Last week at the gun show a fella from Iowa showed me how to change out the barrels on these old rifles. He is going to locate a non grooved receiver so I can make my 510-P correct. One thing that he did say is that there should be no head spacing issues because these are rimmed cartridges. Please c...

Remington 514 single shot rifle

I have a few questions about my Remington Model 514 single shot rifle. First of all I can find no serial number even after I removed the action from the stock. The receiver has not been grooved for a rifle scope. On the Remington website they list that this model was first introduced in 1948 then di...

Remington 700's better than Remington 721's or 722's...

I own Remington 722's chambered in 257 Roberts and in 300 Savage. My Remington 721's are chambered in 270 Winchester and in 30-06. As for my Remington 700's they are chambered in 7mm-08, and a Mountain in 308 Winchester. I sold an early Remington 700 that was chambered in 243 Winchester. They all se...

John Gyde, thank you very much for being so helpful in my education about the Remington 510-P.

Well that is odd..

John Gyde: The one Remington 510-P that I own does have a grooved receiver with the barrel marked B TT (code dated for Jan 1948). If you are correct then what I must have is an older barrel on a late receiver or did I misunderstand what you posted. There also seems to be an additional stamping on th...

Remington 510-P

I have two Remington 510-P's in my collection. The earlier "1941" dated rifle receiver is not grooved for scope rings, however, the "1948" dated one is set up that way and it would appear to be factory original. Two questions: are WWII dated rifles more desirable and was the chan...

Remington 510-P

I have barrel dated both of my Remington 510-P's to find that one carries a May 1941 dating. Is a WWII 510-P sought after more by collectors.
