I saw an old post about using modern ammo in a 7x57 Roller. Have you been doing so? How is it working?
Thanks.

I have shot several boxes with no problems as yet. I have mostly used 175 gr to get as close as possible to the original loading. 8)

Re: Remington Rolling Block 7mm

I recently purchased a 1902 Rolling Block in 7 x 57 Mauser in 90 to 95% condition with super clean bore and it loves the factory loads with no separation of brass and 139 to 175 grain loads. The action can withstand a lot of pressure and no gas comes back in my face. Just have a reputable gun smith...

This makes me sad - I lost my 760 in the first burglary.

Re: Rolling block ID books?

Remington Rolling Block Rifles by Marcot & Lewis has great photos and info on primarily commercial RBs. Layman's Remington Rolling Block Military Rifles of the World covers the military shipments and info with B&W photos. \ Thank you! I'm going to look for both of them. I'm tired of being c...

M1902 7x57 ?

Greetings,

I am wondering if there is a comprehensive listing of countries that used this model?
Also, is there any list of markings? I am trying to identify which country issued mine.

Thanks :?:

Re: M1902 7x57 ?

OK, thanks again for the help. I have started putting together the components to reload & have another question. What are your thoughts concerning jacketed vs cast bullets? Are these barrels up to moderate use of (lightly loaded) jacketed bullets? I am getting a die set that will be dedicated to...

Re: Remington Rolling Block 7mm

Thanks for the info. I'm somewhat relieved to hear it is only a case length issue, as I know how to deal with this. I must have hit it lucky & got a shorter chamber, as I can't see any difference in fired cases with a visual inspection, but I have never miked them. The throat does not appear to ...

M1902 7x57 ?

Greetings, Recently I read in another forum that modern 7x57 ammo is not safe in this rifle. According to the post the chambers are cut differently and current sporting ammo has too high pressure for a rolling block. I searched this forum, but found no answers. I have shot this rifle a few times wit...
