T size shot is 0.20 diameter.
Size F Shot is 0.22 diameter.
Large shot has to be used to retain pellet energy at longer ranges with the lighter (Steel) material.

Re: Remington Autoloading shotgun
Sorry Dave I meant to get you answered earlier. What does your barrel address say, and is it numbered to the gun. Is there a Remington logo stamped on the top tang and an UMC in a circle on the lower? More than likely your gun is from '10 or possibly '11. If there is any mention of Union Metallic Ca...

Re: renington model 11
Check the barrel ring for a serial number to see if it matches the gun's.
Gun is 1915 Vintage, you can look up a more specific date on the manufacture date lookup on the website.
Sounds like a later era factory polychoke barrel on an early gun.

Re: TPI for rear tang srew on Rem 11?
GT,
I don't but call my gunsmith in Humboldt, TN, Frank Elliot (731)784-5746.
He'll be glad to help you.
He is closed on Sun. and Mon. so try him Tue. 9 am.-5 pm.
Also remember the tang screw has a tapered shaft and the stock bushing is hyperbolic.
Good Luck,
Will

Re: TPI for rear tang srew on Rem 11?
Guntroll, The tang screw length varied tremendously between stock types through the years, but the thread size and diameter does not. You may be forced to step up a size in diameter and re-thread the screw boss on the action tang. I believe the A5 tang screws are slightly larger in diameter than the...

Re: Pre Model 11 Autoloading Shotgun
Henry, The bolt buffer was added sometime later, about the time the safety was moved rearward if my memory serves me correctly @ 1929. Does your gun have a buttplate or recoil pad? If a buttplate, what style? Also, is the patent address on the barrel or the left side of the receiver? Trying to ascer...

Re: Remington Auto Loading ID
According to the research published in Jim Tipton's article 60,3xx would have been produced in 1908.
Does it have any engraving?
David is at a disadvantage since I have his copy.
Thanks again David,
Will

Re: Model 10TD
kfran, There is no way to know about the engraving, but it is highly possible. TD is an abbreviation for "Take Down" model, meaning the gun could be seperated in "half" quickly in order to ease assembly/dissassembly to case the gun for transportation on horse or early open type a...

tschuor77,
Your gun is pushing 100 years old.
Do yourself a favor and have it checked by a competent gunsmith.
Always better safe than sorry.

Re: Model 11D SN 15126XX
According to the records this 16 gauge was made in 1937.
Is the barrel original to the gun, ie. matching serial numbers and engraved?
If you could provide some pictures it would be a tremendous help.
Thanks,
Will Gurton

Re: Model 11 info
dnuge66,
In the first half of Production in 1912, according to the records available.
The barrel address should also include Union Metallic Cartridge Co., and the Upper tang should have Remington on it and the lower an UMC in a circle.

Re: Model 10-A Deciphering Help?
David,
Were the 10's numbered where the Pre-10's left off, like the 11's?
I also thought the Remington Repeating Shotgun was introduced in 1908?
Not doubting you, just what is printed in the "Blue Book".
Hope you are well.
