No, just a lifelong Steelers' fan who grew up in Detroit and gave up on the Lions. 
The only numbers I see on the barrel are just forward of the serial number - they are: xp10.

You're correct, it is on the action. Do you know of a link to serial number dates? I trust your knowledge, but would still be interested in seeing a "list."

I just bought a 700 bdl. The serial number on the barrel (barrel code) is D6227819. It looks like new. Am I correct in assuming it was manufactured in 1983 or 2009?
