Your Remington model 12-A was made in mid to late 1910. Great gun!

Re: 722 257 roberts barrel twist rate?

You are probably looking at 1:10. The 244 Rem. Had 1:12 and later ones changed to 1:9. You could of saved a lot of time and hassle making 257 ackley brass, and just bought the 244. Your rifle would have been worth more and it wouldn't be someones science project.

I hate to push anything but the Remington Society, but a good place to fill in your missing catalogs go to www.vintageguncatalogs.com. Good luck and let me know how it turns out. Billy Smith

Re: Help with possible Remington purchase

The 511-P is a fun gun to shoot. I see you say that it is a P model. Does it still have the point-crometer sight. The 70-80% condition I would say that it is not collectors quality, and especially with the holes drilled in the stock. But I will say for 100.00 you can not lose if your looking for a s...

Re: Help on 700 "Varmint" versions??

The stocks on your varmint specials and your standard barrels will look the same other than the size of the barrel channel. 1962 to 1973 models had impressed checkering. The ADL models continued with impressed checkering until 1983. From about 1974 to 1977 they used cut checkering on the BDLs. From ...
