Re: .22 semi rifle, what is it?
You have a Remington model 24. An early one since you say its a 22 short only. Probably whats throwing you off with other pictures is that you have a shell deflector and most photos dont. Shell deflectors are desirable among 24 collectors. Great gun.

Re: Please help... mgf date for Remington 700 BDL
If your rifle has a hinged floor plate and black forend and pistol grip cap then its a BDL. You say you have an aluminum butt plate then your rifle was made before 1968. Your gun has a 20 inch barrel then your gun was made before 1964. After 1964 the barrels were leingthend to 22 inches.

Re: Remington Mohawk 600 Mannlicher stock
These rifles in this configuration were all sold to australia. They are quite common there. I have had offers to buy some in the past. I do have photos. If I get a chance I will try to post mine. I have not posted pictures either, but will try.

Re: New here and collecting
It maybe your lucky day. I found some things I feel I may not be able to live without. I can offer you the 700 ADL and BDL 7mm express as a package. Both guns are new in the box, and both guns are the actuall guns that are pictured in John Lacys book "THE REMINGTON 700". Page 180 and 182. ...

Yes they were in the 700s around 1978. I have only seen them in BDLs. That doesnt meen they didnt make ADLs. I have only seen very few ADLs in the 7mm Express.

Re: New here and collecting
I collect 700s, 600, 660s Models 12, 24, 16s. Pretty much the guns that have alredy been talked about are the ones Remington chambered in the 7mm express. If you want to get all of them there is even one called the 7mm-06. Which is another stamping.(280 Rem, 7mm Express and 7mm-06).

Re: Annie Oakley
I have several of these. Some shot, and some not. Like Jay said Annie Oakley used these in her shooting shows. She would have someone hold them or she would have someone throw them in the air and she would shoot them. After she would hit them she would ussually give them to a lucky audiance member. T...

Re: Remington Model 700 6mm
The 700 in the 6mm Rem. was first introduced in 1962, and are still made. You probably have a hard time finding them because most people who buy them like them and do not want to sell them. If yours does not have a floor plate then it probably does not have a black forend and pistol grip cap, then y...

Re: Remington Rifle Help
You need to send photos. There is not enough information. The only bolt action Remingtons that I can quickley recall are the model30 and model 600. Your model 600 would have a serial number. If your barrel is marked 35 Rem. Only shoot 35 Remingtons out of it. If I were to guess it kind of sounds lik...

Re: 60's Remington 700
The value of guns extremely depend on condition, condition and the major part condition. I can only go by an average. Some people score there guns condition differantly then others. One mans 95% is another mans 85%.100% condition is a new gun no matter if its 150 years old or 1 hour old. Some people...

Re: 60's Remington 700
What is the question? The gold dot you see are pins the factory puts in the stock for streingth. The way you describe it sounds like you have a BDL model with impress checkering. Your right the 700 was not produced until 1962. On the RSA sight there is a section for dating your rifle. Check that out...
