Re: SERIAL NUMBERS OF 1890 REVOLVERS.

Thanks for the response. The gun is basically gray with a typically rough black powder bore .
The strange thing about is a former owner replaced the hard rubber grips with some home made wood grips. He did preserve the original grips though.

SERIAL NUMBERS OF 1890 REVOLVERS

I just acquired a well used remington model 1890 revolver. The serial number under the left grip and on the loading gate is 2004. I'm wondering if the 1890's were numbered sequentially? If so is mine 16 from the end? Anyone have any information on the 1890 serial numbering? If so please email me dir...

Re: Remington 8-81

I just saw your post. I have one of each. I have a real nice 95+% model 8 in 30 rem cal. and a 95+% model 81 in 300 sav. The 81 has a tang peep sight. If you still have interest I will include ammo with both. email me with your questions, if you are a serious buyer I will take photos for you. rhabra...

REMINGTON 1875 IN 44WCF

I have acquired a nice model 1875 all original Remington 44 WCF revolver. It is full blued with case hardened hammer and loading gate. There is no lanyard ring. serial/batch number is 863. The safety and loading notches are worn and the pawl screw is broken at the screw driver notch so I can't get i...

Model 1875 caliber markings

I'm looking at a very crisp model 1875 Remington revolver that has no caliber markings on it. I have looked at the cylinder and there doesn't appear to be the shoulders you would see on a 44-40 cylinder. It looks bigger than a 44 russian/American. No caliber markings on the frame or grips. Am I look...

NEW MODEL ARMY 44

I just purchased a 90+ percent New Model 44 Army Remington revolver. I know from reading the threads on this forum that it might be possible to identify the manufacture date and contract this spectacular piece was purchased on. the serial number is 69713. It has a nice clear Porter Giles cartouche o...

45 Colt Blanks

I have just acquired an old 50's green and red box of remington 45 colt special purpose blanks. The label clearly says these are for special purpose use and should not be used as standard blanks. They are old REM-UMC balloon head cases and have a heavy fiber wad closing the front end. Does anybody k...

NIB M1917 Eddystone

I'm not sure if I'm in the right place for this, I've never seen anything here about M1917's. Any way I just got what I believe to be a NOS M1917 Eddystone with numbered box from Red River Arsenal. These were sold off through the DCM in the 40's to NRA members for the princely sum of $7.50.No rebuil...

Re: Replacement wood

My Wenig stock arrived this morning and I was very impressed with the quality of wood and the shaping of the stock. Wenig luckily had an old or early stock for their pattern with the curved buttplate surface that closely corresponds to the very early hard rubber and non-wrap around curved steel butt...

Replacement wood

I'm sure most of the Society members probably know where to go for wood to restore or repair their prized Pederson Pump rifle but in case there are some who don't, I will relate my recent experience as an FYI. I recently purchased a nice little 30 rem. model 14 carbine from a Society member and wasn...
