Re: 760 Bicentennial
I never seen the Gold Paint on those parts before, but I wouldn't remove it. If I could find a BDL Deluxe - Bicentennial 760 - in .270 - I would buy it in a heart beat. But I don't think that they made that model in anything except ADL and more than likely only in 30-06, since it was the most common...

Looking at the picture, I would predict that the stock is unmolested.

Re: Remington 760 date code
With the earliest model of 760 Gamemaster now exceeding 60 yrs. old, it is not uncommon for a rifle of this generation to have had 2 / 3 / maybe even 4 owners. Most of the rifles in my collection - 8 at the present time, only 1 I know of - my dad's, was purchased new, and I still have the original b...

Re: Remington 760 date code
Although a unmolested rifle's age can be predicted by the codes stamped on the barrel, I would be hesitant on insisting that it is of a certain generation until I looked at both the serial number and the barrel code. There has been times where I had a particular barrel and a certain action that were...

Re: Remington 700 in .280 caliber
Not for advertising purposes, but Grice Gun Shop and Bob's Army and Navy stores - both in Clearfield, Pennsylvania, can sell you as much .280 ammo or brass as your little heart desires. Not knowing where you are from, it is hard for me to remark where you had looked in the past for new ammo or reloa...

Re: Remington Model 7 -vs- Winchester M70 Featherweight
Any rifle in the hands of a skilled hunter will produce game on the table. I would have suggested that you find a older model 721 Remington, which could be had for around $350 with a decent scope, and you wouldn't have had to sell the Winchester to buy the Remington. The .308 Winchester is basically...

Re: Fieldmaster 572 Restoration Referral? (Mechanical/Cosmet
I would call Rugh Farm & Supply, only because I am familiar with their work, their gunsmith has a good reputation.
Most gunshops will do the repair, but really doesn't want to get into the other things you mentioned such as stock repair or re-bluing.

Re: 25, 30, 32, & 35 Remington Brass Preservation / Model 14
You can still buy 35 Remington 150 / 200 gr shells if you know where to find them! I don't think there is going to be any scarcity of those shells anytime soon. A small General Store recently closed in my area, and they must have had 10 boxes of 35 Remington on their shelf. 20 years ago, I bought th...

Re: Model 141 .32 caliber info needed please
Points to ponder 1. Commercial ammo is no longer available, most available ammo sells for as much as $4.00 a shell. 2. The Dovetail rear sight is missing. 3. The scope mount screw is broken in the receiver. 4. The barrel is tarnished, probably has a lot more problems just looking at the pictures. 5....

IT WOULD HELP IF YOU COULD POST A PICTURE ALONG WITH YOUR DESCRIPTION.
Marbel and other companies made good open sites that fit the 760 of your vintage of rifle.

The answer is that he doesn't want to read anything or learn anything or know anything, he just wants you to spoon feed him the answer. I may sound bitter, but people like that you can't help. My thoughts are that iskra just wants to brag to his buddies about his rare rifles he owns. The change of g...
