My Remington Model 51

Here's my baby... The gun is coated with grease because it just arrived from the gun restorer who restored and re-blued it. The gun was in very poor condition or I wouldn't have had it restored...It turned out great! The "bad" spots in the picture are the grease...the gun is perfect.

Re: Model 51 - Brochure with assembly / disassembly & cutawa

Bob, My pistol had some functional issues that my gunsmith fixed while he was rebluing the gun. Now, the gun not only looks great, but it functions correctly. I'm taking my wife and daughter to the range in an hour or so so they can shoot this Remington and my Colt 1903 Hammerless. Both guns will be...

Re: Model 51 - Brochure with assembly / disassembly & cutawa

Thanks! Here is what it looked like before... DSCN0278.jpg DSCN0277.jpg The pictures make the gun look better than it actually looked. The slide was badly pitted and the frame was rough. I could barely disassemble the gun and reassembly required an act of God. It wouldn't release the magazine and th...

Re: Model 51 - Brochure with assembly / disassembly & cutawa

photo3.JPG photo2.JPG photo1.JPG Mine is just back from the gunsmith who restored and reblued the gun. It was in terrible condition with less than 10% original bluing on it. The slide was badly rust pitted so it was replaced. I'm taking it to the range this weekend. There is a lot of gun grease on ...

Re: Model 51 .32ACP

Excellent! I love mine, too. a buddy just reblued/restored mine and it should be home by the end of the week. My wife and daughter love that gun because it has mild recoil and is very accurate and fits in the hand so well. I just picked up a Colt 1903 Hammerless that my buddy will also be rebluing a...

Re: Is the P51 safe to shoot?

I shoot very light reloads in my Model 51 because I don't want to stress the gun. It is structurally sound and a great shooter. My wife and daughter will be shooting it more than me, unfortunately! Have a knowledgeable gunsmith take a look and see if he/she sees any obvious problems, If no obvious p...

Re: recoil spring-help

I contacted a rep from Wolff Springs and they do not carry any springs for the Remington Model 51. Funny, they carry springs for the little German Ortgies, I wonder why they don't carry springs for the best little gun in the world?!

Re: Model 51 date?

I have a Remington Model 51 in .380 with a serial number of 53569 and I would really appreciate it if someone could tell me when it was manufactured. I really love this gun, it's the best feeling gun in the hand that I've ever experienced and my wife and daughter love to shoot it! Thanks!!
